ASIA: Azerbaijan likely to earn 400 billion petrodollars in 16 years

Azerbaijan likely to earn 400 billion petrodollars in 16 yearsAzerbaijan is predicted to earn $400 billion of oil and gas revenues within 16 years, said Azerbaijan’s Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev said in an interview with a group of reporters from the European Union countries. He said the current uptrend in the world oil market increased expectations while country’s oil and gas revenues had previously been forecasted to be $200 billion until 2024.

According to him, Azerbaijan is expected to produce 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Shah Deniz in 2010-2012 and will occupy an important place in energy security of Europe.

He said Azerbaijan has demonstrated political will for implementation of Nabucco and Trans-Caspian Projects.

The assets of State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) are predicted to grow to $7 billion this year if oil prices remain high.

AZERBAIJAN: Mexico interested in Azerbaijan’s lesson in offshore oil production

Azerbaijan Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev met with Mexican ambassador to Azerbaijan Salvador Campos Icardo and briefed the guest about Azerbaijan's industry and energy sector, project and programs and oil and gas resources.

He added that the two countries need to exchange experience in this field and Azerbaijan is ready for any cooperation.

The ambassador aid his country shows great interest in Azerbaijan's experience in offshore oil extraction and a Mexican delegation will visit Azerbaijan soon to start cooperation in the implementation of the projects and expertise exchange. TODAY

AZERBAIJAN: Caspian Energy Market Development to be Discussed in Baku

Confidence Energy Ltd. from the UK and the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy will conduct the first Caspian Oil Trade & Transport Conference in Baku on Apr. 23-24.

It will consider the fuel and energy transportation and international cooperation on the Caspian Sea. The Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry, the Kazakhstan Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, and the US Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan are backing the conference.

A letter of recommendation signed by Mr. Kiinov, Vice-Minister of of Energy and Mineral Resources of RK has been sent to major oil companies of Kazakhstan.

Azerbaijan’s Industry and Energy Minister, Natig Aliyev will report about the Caspian Transport Infrastructure Development.

The conference will be divided into five sessions (Crude, product and gas markets of the Caspian region, Caspian Pipeline Transportation, Development of marine transport in the Caspian, Crude trading in the Caspian region and Improving efficiency of products export and trading). NefteGaz
